Training on My Mind

Since we lost the baby in July (this may be news for some of you), I've been helplessly trying to get back into shape. This has been a VERY painful experience for me....trying to push out some mileage has been slow going, so I told Ben I need something to motivate me, something to train for.

So, this is the marathon we're thinking about doing (It's Oct. 21st, only 10 weeks away)...and this is the marathon that we'd also love to do in the spring.

Photo Top Left: Amsterdam marathon (this seems breathtaking because not only does it take you thorough the alluring streets of Amsterdam, it winds around the splendid canals, and right in time for fall weather....leaves changing, crisp weather).

Photo below: Rome marathon...this gives me the chills, thinking about running through Rome, and finishing at the Colosseum, not to mention all the rich historical sights you run by during the whole course...fabulous. Race date, March 16th. Anyone want to come join us (hint, hint...Sheryl, Julie, Rachelle, Natalie, Ashley, Anne, You)? Better yet, anyone want to come and babysit while we run (hint, hint, Grandma, Mimi, You)?!?

Peggy I didn't know you had lost your baby - I am so sorry. You sound like you are on the right track getting prepared for a sweet life experience & staying healthy.

Peg...you are amazing! It has been what now...2 years since I had my knee surgery, and a year since I had Ethan...and I still haven't made it more than 5 miles. (AND, I look like a lopsided cow when I run.) Good luck with the training. Next spring is about the time we planned on coming to see you, so mabye if I can get motivated, I will run with you. Otherwise, it would be fun to see you at the finish line.
what, anne? knee surgery? where was I...

don't you remember when i was on crutches for 2 months? It was supposed to be a "minor surgery", but i kept having problems with it swelling up. I think you and ben even brought me dinner one night.
